Prices
You've probably noticed that we do not put prices on our website.
There is a reason for this!
"Normal" retail jewellers generally sell mass-produced pieces, made using moulds, so their prices are fixed.
However, as our jewellery is handmade, we are able to create many different versions of any given design, all at different prices.
Most of the photos on this website show jewellery that was designed and made to commission.
They are not pieces that we have available for sale. - We show them only to give some inspiration.
Each piece of jewellery we sell is unique, so the price has to be individually calculated.
The price of a piece of jewellery depends on the
costs of materials and time needed to make it.
COST OF METAL
Precious metals are sold by weight, so we need to know the exact dimensions of the item you would like, in order to calculate the metal-weight.
Tweaking the dimensions, is one of the ways we adjust the price to suit the customer.
COST OF STONES
The cost of diamonds, and other precious stones is determined by size (carat weight), and quality.
This is where there is most scope for adjusting the price. Seemingly tiny differences can have a huge affect on price.
COST OF LABOUR
The more complex the item, the longer it will take to make.
Generally, the amount of work in any given design will be the same, regardless of metal-weight and stone size, but we can sometimes simplify a design to reduce the labour cost.
By balancing how much of your total budget goes into each of these three elements, we can design a ring that is right for you, at a price to suit your pocket.
This is why we ask that you don't email us a question starting "How much is..."
You can specify the price-range for us to work with.
Don't forget, your piece doesn't exist yet. This gives us a lot of flexibility.
We can take any design and tweak the specific dimensions to suit a hundred different price-points.
Obviously, the more you spend, the more you get.

Every bespoke piece of jewellery is different, so prices can vary hugely.
We need to know precise specifications in order to work-out a price.
Below you can see the stages we need to go through to calculate a firm price for you.

In a brief initial, chat we'll discuss your requirements.
There will be certain information that we'll need to have in order to calculate a price for you.
You might need to find out the answers and get back to us, perhaps with photos.
A Ballpark figure
Once we have the necessary information we'll be able to do some calculations.
Bear-in-mind, this will be an initial figure. If this does not work with your budget, just tell us the figure you have in mind, and we'll work out a way of tweaking the design to make it more affordable.
At this stage we'll be talking "ballpark prices".

This is where we get the exact specifications we need to calculate a price.
We'll find out the weight of metal we'll need to use to create your item.
If your project involves us supplying diamonds or other stones, we’ll find out exactly what's needed.
Finalising the details
If we don't have suitable stones in stock, we can source a selection from our suppliers, that fit your brief to show you in a subsequent meeting.
Once you have selected the stone(s) that you like, we'll be getting much closer to an exact price.
At this stage we might need to tweak the design so that it is exactly right for you.
We can then provide you with an exact price for your item based on the price of metal on that day.
No obligation
The process described here is simply what we have to do to work out a price for you.
You are under no obligation to purchase anything from us.
You are only committed at the point that a firm order is placed.
FIXING THE PRICE
Precious metal prices change constantly, so the price can change, until you place a firm order.
We require a deposit of 25% of the total price. This is when we purchase the materials needed to make your item.
The balance is payable on collection of the finished jewellery.
