It's important to have your jewellery insured

A good insurance policy will cover you against theft, loss or damage.

We often speak to people who have been burgled or who have recently lost or damaged an item of jewellery. In many cases they discover that their jewellery is under-insured.

Unfortunately some find that their jewellery is not insured at all.

Insurance is one of those things that it is all too easy to forget about. Many people consider jewellery insurance a waste of money, but if the worst happens you'll be glad to have it!

Household Insurance policies offer jewellery cover, but they often exclude losses in the situations that are most likely to occur.

Some people only find out when it is too late that their jewellery was not insured because it was not in a safe, or it was outside the home!

We recommend that you look for an insurer offering comprehensive cover, wherever you are.

Many household insurance policies insist that lost items are replaced by jewellers that they appoint, or at high-street retailers. A good insurer will allow you to choose where you source replacements.
