The Engagement Ring You Deserve

Our contemporary engagement rings are individually designed by our own in-house jewellery designers and goldsmiths, and handmade just for you. Contemporary engagement rings form a large part of our business. For our stock we use certificated diamonds (from 0.25ct upwards) in high color and clarity grades. With a bespoke engagement ring we take into account each customer’s requirements, including their budget. We offer a FREE design-consultation, and normally the designer-jeweller you speak to is the person who will actually make your ring for you, should you decide to commission a bespoke engagement ring from us.

A simple contemporary single-diamond engagement ring with a princess cut in a rub-over setting with cut-outs on two sides. This example is quite low, making it very practical for every day wear, but we could make a similar rings where the stone stands higher on the finger.

A contemporary engagement ring in 18ct yellow gold with a brilliant-cut diamond  in a platinum rub-over setting, and  nine brilliant-cut diamonds set on one shoulder. We have made similar rings with small diamonds on both sides, and with no small diamonds at all.

This is an example of our "Flick" design.  The Flick ©  is the signature style engagement ring of jewellery designer Andrew Leggett.  The concept was based on the classic single-stone crossover engagement ring, but tweaked to address the fact that a normal crossover ring does not sit well with a straight wedding ring. The Flick has one straight side to sit perfectly alongside a wedding ring. Consequently the stone is pushed down the finger, and one shoulder Flicks down to meet it. A bespoke engagement ring with three brilliant-cut diamonds set in platinum. The band is as wide as the stone settings, which means this style sits perfectly with a straight wedding ring. This sort of ring can be made with any size of diamond, and versions can be made with any number of stones.

Bespoke Engagement Rings

An engagement is one of the those moments in life that deserve to be marked by a piece of unique jewellery.

A bespoke engagement ring says so much more than an off-the-shelf ring from a high-street jeweller ever could!

At Aurum nothing is standard or pre-determined. We start every commission for a bespoke engagement ring with a blank sheet of paper. We don’t have sales-people, so as a client you deal direct with one of our designer-goldsmiths, who can give you all the advice and ideas you need. You can have as much creative input into the design of your bespoke engagement ring as you wish. Whether you want just a subtle variation on a classic diamond solitaire engagement ring or trilogy ring, or something really outlandish or funky, choosing a bespoke engagement ring from Aurum means you'll have a unique engagement ring handmade to your requirements in the UK by highly-skilled goldsmiths.

You might expect a handmade engagement ring to be prohibitively expensive, but the fact that we start from scratch with your ring means the design can be tailored to fit your budget.  Although handmade engagement rings are much more labour-intensive than mass-produced ones, the fact that we are both “manufacturer” and retailer means the prices of our bespoke engagement rings are comparable with those of normal high street rings with a similar material content.

Commissioning a  bespoke diamond engagement ring offers the opportunity to select the diamond or diamonds to be used. As a client you can specify the diamond shape, size and quality you would like, and we will source suitable stones for you to see.  If you don't know anything about diamonds, our designers will be happy to give you a brief introduction to the "4 Cs". Cut, Colour, Clarity and Carat are the criteria you need to consider when selecting a diamond.

Our signature style contemporary engagement ring is the Flick ring, designed by Andrew Leggett. This is a contemporary diamond solitaire engagement ring  that has one flat edge, to sit perfectly with a straight wedding band. The stone is consequently pushed down the finger, and one shoulder flicks down to meet it; hence the name the “Flick”.
